How can you help?
Volunteer with us on March 27th. Sign up sheets have been posted outside the Campus Ministry Office- sign up today!!!
Can I bring a friend or family member?
ABSOLUTELY!
You do not have to be a Villa student or employee to help! You just need to be willing to work, meet new people, and make a difference!
If you have friends or family members outside of Buffalo who want to help, they can plan a volunteer activity in their area- and share that with us on line!!
Can I bring my children to help?
Children are welcome…with a few guidelines.
- Children should be old enough to help (approximately age 8 and up)
- Parents must supervise their children at all times
- We will specify on March 27th which work sites are appropriate for children
What time is the service day? (all times are approximate!)
- We will meet at the Villa Student Center- registration is from 9:30-10:00
- At 10:00 we will have a brief meeting, describe the work projects, and divide into work teams.
- The work day will go until approximately 4:00, at which time we will return to the Villa Student Center for dinner,
a slide show of the day’s events, and a short team report- where each work team shares what was accomplished that day.
- We have a special treat before dinner- Moving Miracles is one of the groups we are helping on March 27th.
They are a dance school for children with disabilities - and they have agreed to dance for us before dinner!!!
If you have not seen them dance before, you are in for a treat!
Why should I come and join this effort?
The day is based on the simple belief that every person can make a positive difference in the world.
Moreover when we take a second to see how much gets done we will find that little things really do add up.
- You will have fun
- You will meet new people
- You will make a difference!!!
What should I bring? What should I wear?
- Bring yourself, a good attitude, and a desire to work hard and make a difference
- Bring a camera if you would like, to record the day’s events
- Wear comfortable work clothes!
